Elaine Bradley - Headteacher (LLE)

Slaithwaite C of E Junior & Infant School
Holme Lane, Slaithwaite, Huddersfield, West Yorkshire HD7 5UG

My name is Elaine Bradley and I am Headteacher of Slaithwaite C.E (C) J.I School. I have been at Slaithwaite since January 2003 as head. Before this I was acting head at Christchurch Woodhouse N.I. J School in Deighton. Two very different schools but similar in many ways when I started at Slaithwaite. I have worked at Slaithwaite for a long time and seen many changes, moving from a school with serious weakness to good and outstanding. We are a Green Flag school and fully committed to sustainability.

I have a dedicated team of people who are proud to work at Slaithwaite and give 100% every day to our special children who are lucky to be educated in such a beautiful and inspiring learning environment.

I believe strongly in developing and nurturing new school leaders and have done so with great success at Slaithwaite. We are a high achieving school and take pride in the strong relationships and well-being of our children which ensure outstanding behaviour (Ofsted Dec 13) and outstanding judgements at all our SIAMS inspections.

I believe in team work and being an outstanding role model as a school leader, this has proved effective in all the schools I have worked in. I am committed to school leaders working together to secure school improvement and I relish sharing good practice and ideas-it’s what it’s all about!
